School of Stars

FAQs:
Q: Can I watch my child during a class? Yes. We have a waiting room, where we have a window provided. We do not allow parents to sit in our classes, as it often distracts their child and the other children.

Q: I’m not sure if my child will like this. Can we just sit in during a class? You are more than welcome to do so. Please call ahead of time to arrange a time to come in. Your child will not be able to participate in the class, but they will get a feel of what the class entails. Most students who have sat in a class have signed up to take a class!

Q: When are you open? Currently, we do not have hours posted because we often have activities outside of our school. Instead, we ask that you call the school (402) 330-1020 or e-mail us at (school_of_stars@hotmail.com) if you would like to stop in.

Q: What do you do in your classes? Since we have a recital at the end of our sessions, we spend quality time on our recital pieces. These pieces usually consist of a scene and a song and/or dance. The students are responsible for not only performing in these scenes but assist in designing sets, props, and costumes. We also spend time playing theatre games and we work on exercises that help with our acting skills.

Q: Why are your age ranges so broad for your classes? We've found that working with classes of multi-aged children works effectively for many reasons! Your child will have the opportunity to work with a variety of ages and not just their own. Younger students get challenged more while older students learn patience and develop leadership skills. We try our best to make sure that our classes are evenly spread between the ages.

Q: What can my child gain from taking a class at School of Stars? With School of Stars, your child will gain:
1) An improved understanding and compassion of others.
2) Teamwork skills.
3) Better reading comprehension and fluency.
4) Confidence and self-esteem.
