School of Stars

Policies and Procedures:
At School of Stars, we believe the heart of theatre is communication. Therefore, we have created this policies and procedures list to help keep you informed.

Pick-up/Drop Off: We do ask that children are dropped off prior to class starting, and picked up promptly when class is over. Westwood Plaza offers plenty of parking spaces, as well as a 5 minute drop off/pick up curb, conveniently located outside of the school.

Class Attire: Please be dressed comfortably for class, as we do activities that require a lot of movement. Avoid jeans or dressy clothes (unless for costume purposes) and wear comfortable shoes (no flip flops!)

Attendance: To truly benefit from these classes, attendance is essential! Roll will be taken each class, so please notify us by either e-mail or phone if a student will not be attending that week. No deductions or refunds will be given for student absences unless special circumstances (approved by the teacher) prevent the student from attending class.

Class Viewing: You are welcome to watch a class. If you choose to do so, please use our waiting room, which has a viewing window.

Star Showcase: We have a Star Showcse at the end of each of our sessions to show what we've learned in class. All students will be expected to participate. More information will be provided as the classes progress.

Snow Policy: If Millard Public Schools is closed due to inclement weather, then School of Stars will be closed as well. There will be no make-up classes, unless under special circumstances.

Newsletter: We publish a monthly newsletter that will be distributed the first week of each month. This helps keep parents up to date on important information such as recital news, new class offerings, etc.

Photos: Pictures of students may be used for advertising purposes. Please inform us if you do not wish for your child’s photo to be included.

Allergies: Please inform us if your child has any allergies that may prevent them from doing activities in class. We do often work with make-up and occasionally peanut butter.

Injuries: Parents and legal guardians of minors voluntarily waive the right to any legal action against School of Stars, Inc. and its owners for any injury and/or damage sustained on school property resulting from normal theatre activity or any other activity conducted on school property by the students before, during, or after class time.
